Arctic Fox & Cubs Expedition – Hornstrandir Nature Reserve, Iceland
This six-day adventure takes you to Hornvík Bay, one of the best places on Earth to photograph Arctic foxes and their cubs in the wild.
You’ll explore breathtaking valleys, towering sea cliffs, and pristine coastlines—all protected land where wildlife thrives undisturbed.

Our basecamp in Hornvik offers comfortable, fully catered accommodation with heated mess tents and charging facilities. Each day we’ll travel by zodiac to photograph foxes, birds, and dramatic landscapes under the guidance of expert local support.

Itinerary
​​​
Day 1 – Arrival & Journey to Hornvík Bay
​
Depart on a passenger boat to Hornvík Bay at 9:00 am (approx. 2.5 hours). En route, enjoy the stunning coastline before arriving at our basecamp. After settling in and lunch, we’ll explore nearby fox dens and begin our adventure.
​
Day 2 – Exploring Horn & the Cliffs
​
After breakfast, we cross the bay by zodiac to the old farm of Horn. Several dens are nearby and up on the cliffs. A scenic 40–50 minute walk offers amazing views and fox activity.
​
Day 3 – Valleys and Cliffs
​
A full day exploring the dramatic valleys and coastal cliffs—prime territory for photographing foxes, seabirds, and landscapes.
​
Day 4 – Rekavik Cove
​
Morning zodiac trip to Rekavik cove, where a den hidden under driftwood offers fantastic opportunities to photograph playful cubs and parents bringing food.
​
Day 5 – Clifftop Hike
​
A full day hiking along the cliff edges, exploring more dens and capturing panoramic views of Hornstrandir’s wilderness.
​
Day 6 – Return Journey
​
A relaxed morning around camp before our boat pickup at noon. Return to Ísafjörður by late afternoon

• One airport pickup and transfer to accommodation in Ísafjörður.

The total price for this 6-day Arctic Fox & Cubs Expedition is £3,500.
A £600 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of booking,.
The remaining balance due by 31 March 2026.
We also offer the option to pay the balance by monthly direct debit.
